THERAPIST HANNA KIVINIEMI
I have been working as a private therapist and Eirene Family Counselor in Helsinki since 2008. Eirene Family Counselor ("Certificado de Asesor Familiar" in Spanish) is a certificate in Family Counseling accepted by many Protestant Churches in Spain and Latin America.
Upon my return to Finland, continued to expand upon my expertise by taking Solution Focused Psychotherapy training , successfully graduating in 2014. This combination of knowledge and practice has equipped me to employ an extensive array of tools when offering therapy to clients, enabling me to flexibly support them in different types of situations in their lives. Unfortunately, I did not got an official title of Psychotherapist by Valvira (National Supervisory Authority for Welfare and Health in Finland), even though I have completed psychotherapy training in Finland, because they did not consider my Family Counselling degree abroad to be a sufficient basic training. That's why my clients cannot get Psychotherapy subsidized by Kela (The Social Insurance Institution of Finland).
I am able to serve clients in any one of three languages: Finnish, English and Japanese. I have lived many years in four different countries with my family, and thus have myself acquired a lot of experience in adapting to new cultures. In addition to Finnish clients, I have clients who are immigrants, repatriated Finns, as well as those who have multicultural families.
